Why our writing platform needed to exist.

A writing workspace that remembers who the author is. A short letter on what we are building, and the throughline that runs through every keystroke.

Most writing software treats the author as a typist with opinions. Ours starts from the opposite assumption: the author is the only part of the system that can't be replaced, and everything else should be arranged to protect that fact.

A platform that remembers who the author is sounds like a small thing. It isn't. It means the assistant learns your prose instead of a generic average of everyone's. It means your sources, your disclosures, and your decisions live in one place and travel with the work. It means that when a publisher or a committee asks how the book was made, the answer is already written down.

The throughline

Human-centered isn't a tagline for us; it's an architecture. Every feature has to answer one question before it ships: does this put the author more in command, or less? If the answer is less, it doesn't matter how impressive the demo is. It doesn't go in.
